Skin Tag Removal
in Bangkok
Doctor-assessed CO₂ laser treatment for selected benign skin tags on the neck, underarms, body and other suitable areas. Consultation and treatment may be completed during the same visit.
What is the best way to remove a skin tag in Bangkok?
Small benign skin tags can often be removed during a short clinic procedure. The appropriate method depends on the tag’s size, base, location and clinical appearance.
Selected skin tags may be removed with focused CO₂ laser.
At BAC Clinic Bangkok, the doctor first confirms that the lesion appears consistent with a benign skin tag. For suitable lesions, CO₂ laser can precisely remove the protruding tissue while limiting treatment to the affected area. Larger, unusual or uncertain lesions may require a different approach.
What is a skin tag?
A skin tag, medically known as an acrochordon, is a common benign skin growth. It is often soft, flesh-coloured or slightly darker and may hang from the skin on a small stalk.
Skin tags are usually harmless, but some people choose to have them removed because they catch on clothes, jewellery or razors, become repeatedly irritated or are cosmetically bothersome.
Where do skin tags commonly appear?
Skin tags tend to develop in areas where skin rubs against skin, clothing or jewellery.
Small skin tags can become surprisingly annoying
Catching on clothing
Skin tags around the neck, chest or body may repeatedly catch on collars, necklaces, bras or tight clothing.
Shaving irritation
Tags around the neck, face or underarms can be accidentally cut by a razor and may bleed or become inflamed.
Cosmetic concern
Multiple skin tags, especially around the neck or face, may become increasingly noticeable.
Skin tag, mole or wart — are they the same?
No. Several different benign lesions may look similar to an untrained eye, but treatment and recurrence risk can differ.
| Lesion | Typical appearance | Common areas | Important point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skin Tag | Soft, smooth, often hanging from a small stalk | Neck, underarms, groin, body folds | Usually benign and associated with friction areas |
| Mole | Flat or raised, often brown or skin-coloured | Almost anywhere | Pigmented lesions should be assessed before cosmetic destruction |
| Wart | Often rough or irregular surface | Hands, feet, face and body | Caused by HPV and may recur or spread |
| Seborrheic Keratosis | Raised, waxy or “stuck-on” appearance | Face, trunk, neck | Can sometimes be mistaken for a mole or wart |
How does CO₂ laser skin tag removal work?
CO₂ laser energy is strongly absorbed by water in the tissue. For selected skin tags, this allows the doctor to precisely remove the protruding lesion while limiting treatment to a very small area.
The exact technique depends on the thickness and width of the skin tag’s base. A very fine tag may require only a small treatment area, while a broader lesion may create a larger wound.
Why treatment depth should match the lesion
A small skin tag should not automatically receive the same treatment depth as a thicker lesion. The goal is to remove the target while avoiding unnecessary thermal injury to the surrounding normal skin.
This becomes especially important on visible areas such as the neck and around the eyes.
Skin Tag Removal Before & Immediately After
The appearance immediately after removal is not the final cosmetic result. Redness, a small surface wound or mild swelling may initially be visible while new skin begins to form.
Clinically assessed skin tag
The lesion is examined before removal to confirm that the appearance is consistent with a benign skin tag and that laser treatment is appropriate.
Small treatment site
A tiny wound, pink area or mild redness is expected immediately after treatment. This should not be interpreted as the final result.
What happens next?
The treated area forms new surface skin during healing. Depending on lesion size and depth, temporary pinkness or pigmentation may remain after the wound closes and gradually improve over time.
Can skin tags around the eyelids be removed?
Some periocular skin tags may be suitable for removal, but lesions close to the eye require additional caution because the surrounding tissue is thin and sensitive.
BAC Clinic assesses the exact position before agreeing to treatment. A lesion extremely close to the eyelid margin or in an unsuitable location may be declined or referred for another type of care.
Do not attempt DIY removal near the eye
Cutting, tying, burning or applying acidic products to a lesion near the eyelid can cause bleeding, burns, infection and eye injury.
When might it not be a simple skin tag?
A new or unusual lesion should not automatically be removed as a skin tag without assessment.
- Rapid increase in size
- Repeated unexplained bleeding
- Irregular pigmentation
- Firm or ulcerated surface
- Persistent pain
- A lesion that looks very different from the surrounding tags
If the diagnosis is uncertain, the doctor may recommend another evaluation or treatment approach rather than cosmetic CO₂ laser.
Diagnosis before removal
The safest cosmetic treatment starts by confirming what the lesion is—not just removing anything that protrudes from the skin.
Skin tag removal at BAC Clinic: step by step
Doctor Assessment
The doctor examines the lesion and checks whether its appearance is consistent with a benign skin tag.
Price Confirmation
Number, size, treatment area and expected wound are discussed before treatment.
CO₂ Laser Removal
Numbing is used when appropriate and each suitable skin tag is treated individually.
Wound Care
Medication or ointment is applied as needed and aftercare instructions are provided.
Skin Tag Removal Bangkok Price
Skin tags vary considerably in size, thickness, number and location. Final pricing is confirmed after assessment before treatment.
Lesions around the eyes may have separate pricing. Final treatment price and suitability depend on the lesion’s size, base, depth, location and number. Current clinic pricing takes precedence.
Can a skin tag grow back after removal?
A completely removed individual skin tag generally does not simply “regrow” from the exact same tissue, but new skin tags can develop nearby over time.
People who are prone to skin tags may continue to develop additional lesions, particularly in areas of repeated friction or skin folds.
New skin tag ≠ failed treatment
Developing another skin tag nearby later does not necessarily mean the previously treated lesion has returned.
How to care for the skin after skin tag removal
Wound care depends on the size and depth of the treated lesion. Follow the instructions given by the clinic on your treatment day.
Small / superficial treatment area
- Keep the wound dry for approximately 3 days.
- Clean water may generally contact the area from day 4.
- Gentle cleanser may generally resume around day 7.
- Allow any crust or scab to fall naturally.
- Do not pick or scratch the treated area.
Larger / deeper treatment area
- The area may need to remain dry for approximately 7 days.
- Clean water may generally resume from day 8.
- Cleanser may generally resume around day 10.
- Apply clinic-provided medication as directed.
- Change dressings according to the clinic’s instructions.
Will there be a mark after skin tag removal?
Any procedure that creates a wound can temporarily leave redness, pigmentation or a visible treatment mark while the area heals.
Early redness
Mild redness or pinkness is common immediately after the lesion is removed.
Temporary pigmentation
Some patients, particularly those with more reactive skin, may develop temporary darker pigmentation.
Small textural mark
A visible textural change is possible, particularly with larger lesions or deeper treatment. Zero scarring cannot be guaranteed.
