What Is Injection Lipolysis?

A localized contouring treatment for patients who want to address stubborn fat without undergoing surgical fat removal.

Injection lipolysis is commonly known as a fat-dissolving injection. It is used for selected areas of subcutaneous fat that remain noticeable despite reasonable diet, exercise and weight control.

The goal is not major weight loss. Instead, the treatment is designed to improve specific contours such as the double chin, lower face, arms, abdomen, waist or thighs.

The appearance of localized fat is influenced by genetics, anatomy, age, hormones, skin elasticity and natural body-fat distribution. This is why even slim patients may still have a noticeable double chin or a small body area that feels disproportionate.

At BAC Clinic, product choice is only one part of treatment planning. The doctor also considers the thickness of the fat layer, size of the treatment zone, skin laxity, puffiness, cellulite-like texture and the shape the patient would like to achieve.

◎

Localized Fat

Designed for defined fat pockets rather than overall weight reduction.

◇

Fluid Retention

Selected multi-active formulas may be chosen when puffiness is also part of the concern.

◌

Cellulite Appearance

Certain programs are positioned for uneven or orange-peel-like body texture.

↑

Firming & Contour

Skin elasticity and final contour can also be considered when selecting a program.

FACE CONTOURING

Double Chin Removal with Lipolysis Injection

The area beneath the chin is one of the most popular treatment zones for localized injection lipolysis.

Why does a double chin occur?

A double chin is not always caused by being overweight. Some slim patients naturally store more fat beneath the chin because of genetics, facial anatomy or chin projection.

Age and changes in skin elasticity can also make lower-face fullness more noticeable.

Because the area is relatively small and easy to define anatomically, injection lipolysis can be used as part of a precise lower-face contouring plan.

However, the doctor needs to distinguish between excess fat and loose skin. If skin laxity is the dominant issue, an energy-based tightening treatment may be more appropriate or may be used as part of a combined plan.

What the doctor evaluates

  • Thickness of the fat beneath the chin
  • Width of the treatment area
  • Jawline definition
  • Chin projection
  • Skin elasticity
  • Facial symmetry
  • Puffiness or fluid retention
  • Previous facial treatments

WHICH TREATMENT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Lipolysis Injection vs Other Fat & Contouring Treatments

Different procedures solve different problems. Understanding the difference helps you choose more effectively.

Lipolysis Injection vs HIFU / Ultrasound Lifting

Lipolysis Injection Best when the main concern is a localized fat pocket.
HIFU / Ultrasound Lifting Best when the main concern is skin laxity and tissue lifting rather than actual excess fat.
Combination Approach Patients with both fat and skin laxity may benefit from a staged plan involving fat reduction and tightening.

Lipolysis Injection vs RF Skin Tightening

Lipolysis Targets localized subcutaneous fullness through injection-based treatment.
Radiofrequency Uses controlled thermal energy to support firmness and collagen remodeling.
Which to choose? Choose according to whether the dominant problem is fat, laxity or both.

Lipolysis Injection vs Cryolipolysis / Fat Freezing

Lipolysis Allows relatively precise treatment of smaller, specifically mapped fat pockets.
Fat Freezing Uses controlled cooling and generally works through an applicator placed over a larger pinchable treatment zone.
Practical Difference Lipolysis is often attractive when contouring requires more detailed placement around areas such as the chin or jawline.

Lipolysis Injection vs Liposuction

Lipolysis Injection Non-surgical and better suited to small to moderate localized fat pockets.
Liposuction Surgical fat removal that can produce a more substantial reduction when larger volumes are involved.
Main Difference Lipolysis prioritizes lower invasiveness and gradual contour refinement, while liposuction is more appropriate when substantial fat removal is required.

Lipolysis Injection vs Weight-Loss Treatment

Lipolysis Treats localized contour problems.
Weight-Loss Programs Target overall body weight, metabolic health and systemic fat reduction.
Important Lipolysis should not be expected to replace nutrition, exercise or medical weight-management treatment.
Treatment Main Goal Best For Invasiveness Main Advantage
Lipolysis Injection Localized fat reduction Double chin and selected face/body fat pockets Minimally invasive injection Precise and flexible treatment planning
HIFU / Ultrasound Lifting and tightening Loose skin / soft jawline Non-surgical Improves firmness without injections into fat
RF Tightening Firmness / collagen remodeling Mild skin laxity Non-surgical Skin-quality focused
Cryolipolysis Fat reduction through controlled cooling Larger pinchable body areas Non-surgical No injection into fat
Liposuction Surgical fat removal Larger-volume reduction Surgical Greater fat-volume removal in one procedure
YOUR APPOINTMENT

What Happens During a BAC Lipolysis Session?

1

Consultation

Your goals, medical history and treatment area are reviewed before the doctor recommends a plan.

2

Mapping

The doctor maps the treatment zone according to anatomy, fat distribution and desired contour.

3

Injection

The chosen product and volume are administered into the planned subcutaneous zone.

4

Reassessment

Tissue response is evaluated before deciding whether another session is needed.

RECOVERY

What to Expect After Treatment

Lipolysis injection is generally chosen because it does not require the recovery associated with surgery. However, it is still an injectable aesthetic treatment and temporary local reactions can occur.

The treated area may develop swelling, tenderness, redness, mild bruising, warmth or firmness. Swelling can be particularly noticeable after double-chin treatment because the area is visible.

This temporary fullness does not mean the treatment has made the fat worse. It is part of the early tissue response and should be allowed to settle before the contour is judged.

Aftercare

  • Avoid aggressively pressing or massaging the area unless instructed by your doctor.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna or excessive heat during the early recovery period recommended by the clinic.
  • Stay normally hydrated.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol immediately after treatment.
  • Contact the clinic if symptoms are unusually severe or different from the expected recovery.
  • Follow the individualized interval advised before the next treatment.
CANDIDATE GUIDE

Who Is Lipolysis Best Suited For?

Lipolysis is most suitable for adults who have specific pockets of localized fat and want a non-surgical contouring option.

Many patients are already close to their preferred weight. Their concern is not overall body size, but one area that remains fuller than they would like.

A good example is a patient with a normal body weight but genetically prominent submental fat. Another example is a patient with a small lower abdominal or upper-arm fat pocket that remains noticeable despite regular exercise.

Patients whose primary concern is significant obesity or substantial body-weight reduction should consider broader medical weight-management strategies rather than relying on localized lipolysis alone.

Patients with pronounced skin laxity may also require a tightening treatment rather than simply increasing the amount of lipolysis product used.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Lipolysis Injection Bangkok FAQ

How many sessions do I need?

There is no fixed number for everyone. The total treatment plan depends on the area, fat thickness, product chosen, amount used and your individual tissue response. Multiple sessions are common.

Which BAC lipolysis program is the most affordable?

Fat Off Premium / System Lipo V has BAC’s strongest value positioning and can be planned from 5 cc to 100 cc.

Which program contains Deoxycholic Acid?

Neobella is BAC’s Targeted DCA program and lists Deoxycholic Acid together with L-Carnitine as key ingredients.

Which formula is best if I have puffiness as well as fat?

Red Lava is positioned for patients whose concerns include localized fat together with puffiness, fluid-retention appearance, cellulite-like texture or skin firmness.

Is lipolysis suitable for a double chin?

Yes. The double chin is one of the most common facial treatment areas. The doctor assesses the amount of fat, chin structure and skin elasticity before deciding the treatment plan.

How many cc are typically used for the face?

The volume varies. Fat Off facial areas may begin around 5–10 cc. Neobella facial planning may begin with one 8 cc vial, and Red Lava facial planning may use around one 10 cc vial where appropriate. These figures are examples rather than fixed doses.

How much is used for body treatment?

Larger treatment zones often need more volume. The amount depends on the surface area and thickness of the fat layer. The doctor calculates the plan before treatment.

Is lipolysis better than HIFU?

They treat different concerns. Lipolysis primarily addresses localized fat, while HIFU is mainly used for lifting and tightening. If both fat and laxity are present, a combination or staged approach may be considered.

Is lipolysis better than fat freezing?

Neither is universally better. Injection lipolysis allows detailed treatment mapping and can be useful for smaller areas. Fat freezing is typically used with an applicator on suitable pinchable areas. The better option depends on anatomy and goals.

Is lipolysis the same as liposuction?

No. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that physically removes fat and can treat larger volumes. Injection lipolysis is non-surgical and is more suitable for selected localized areas.

Can I use lipolysis for weight loss?

Lipolysis is not intended for major weight loss. It is a contouring treatment for localized fat.

When will I notice the result?

Changes are gradual. Initial swelling should settle before the area is evaluated. The timeline differs between patients and treatment areas.

Does the treatment have downtime?

Most patients can continue their normal daily activities, although temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur.

Can I combine lipolysis with skin tightening?

In selected patients, yes. If skin laxity is also present, the doctor may recommend a staged tightening treatment.

Can consultation and treatment be done on the same day?

Often yes, provided the doctor confirms that you are suitable for treatment that day.

Which program should I choose?

Choose Fat Off Premium when value and flexible volume are the priorities. Choose Neobella when a DCA-focused localized-fat program is preferred. Choose Red Lava when fat reduction is being planned together with broader concerns such as puffiness, cellulite appearance or skin firmness. The final selection should follow doctor assessment.
